Information about swimmer welfare and safeguarding
The Welfare Team provides a first point of contact for children, parents and adults within the club who have a child safeguarding or welfare concern. Crawley Swimming Club (CSC) is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for everyone. If you have a concern about the welfare of any child (or adult) or the behaviour of an adult towards any child, you should contact the Welfare Team. We are SwimMark accredited which includes compliance to Wavepower the aim of which is to safeguard all children in line with current legislation, regulations and guidance and is for use within any Swim England (SE) affiliated organisation where children are present.
All of the Clubs coaches and volunteers that work directly with children are DBS checked and have taken part and completed mandatory safeguarding training which has to be refreshed every 3 years. The Club has to document this to be able to achieve the SwimMark accreditation.
If you wish to report a welfare or safeguarding concern you can do so by completing this online form, the form will be send directly to the CSC Welfare Team.
Once you contact our team they will respond as soon as they can, please note they are volunteers. All concerns will be treated confidentially and appropriate action will be taken following Club, Swim England or government organisation guidelines, as appropriate.
You can also contact the welfare team directly via the the Club welfare email address - [email protected]
If you are in doubt whether you should share something don’t hesitate to get in contact with us, the club has a number of volunteers who are very experienced in welfare & safeguarding and would be happy to advise you. The smallest detail could make all the difference, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

If you witness or are the victim of inappropriate mobile phone use in the changing rooms (or anywhere) if possible please inform an adult member of the club who is working/volunteering at the time as soon as you can. If this is not possible inform the duty manger at the leisure centre and follow up by reporting to the welfare team via the online form.
